The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
July 30th
1126 Hours: Officer Riddles investigated an auto burglary on the 6200 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue. The loss is a laptop computer.
1207 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 37000 block of Locust Street. A 27-year-old transient male was contacted and arrested for battery and subsequently booked into the Fremont Jail.
1353 Hours: Officer Nobbe investigated a credit fraud case. The victim reported that someone had somehow obtained his credit card and used it to make fraudulent purchases at a local store. The investigation is ongoing.
1402 Hours: Officer Jackman investigated a grab and run theft of polo shirts at Macy’s, NewPark Mall.

The log displays basic information such as personal data (allowable by statute/law) and the mug shot of the arrestee. Yes, you can see booking photographs and get to know those in our community who are committing crimes.
