“See Something, Say Something” Leads to Robbery Arrests

On Sunday, July 29, 2018, at about 6:30 PM, Torrance Police Officers responded to the Starbucks located at 3931 Artesia Boulevard regarding a robbery investigation.  Officers discovered a 21-year-old woman visiting from Germany was pushed to the ground by a suspect who attempted to steal her cellular phone.  The suspect fled without the property.

A witness observed the suspect enter the passenger side of a vehicle with “Paper Plates.”  The witness followed the vehicle a short distance and reported their observations.  Equipped with this information, Torrance Patrol Officers searched the area and ultimately found the suspects parked in front of the Starbucks located 1759 Artesia Boulevard in the City of Gardena.  Two suspects were positively identified and arrested for Conspiracy and Attempt Robbery.

The Torrance Police Department is grateful for another opportunity to collaborate with the community resulting in the apprehension of those involved in criminal activity. "See Something, Say Something.”

This preliminary investigation was conducted under the command of Torrance Police Captain Mark Athan of the Patrol Bureau.  Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Torrance Police Department at (310) 328-3456.
