Authorities say Cedarbrook resident misused the 911 system 
Lt. David Marler of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Kayren Ann Shermer, 73, of 1267 Pinnacle Church Road in Nebo, with misuse of the 911 system.
On Friday evening, July 27, Marler was called to Cedarbrook Residential in reference to someone repeatedly dialing 911.
The lieutenant arrived at the facility, where Shermer lives, to find that there were no current or previous emergencies. Telecommunicators reported that the suspect had call 911 five times within a 12-hour period.
