On July 2, 2018, a petty theft occurred at a restaurant on Bison Avenue in Newport Beach. In the surveillance footage, you can see the method used by the suspect to commit the theft in the middle of a busy restaurant. The man uses a sweatshirt draped over a chair to conceal his hand as he reaches into the victim's purse and removes the wallet. After leaving the restaurant, the suspect made a fraudulent charge on one of the victim's credit cards for almost $3,000 worth of electronics.
