To clarify our press release in regard to operation of motorized scooters in Manhattan Beach, motorized scooters can be only be operated on streets with a speed limit of 25 mph or less.  Motorized scooters are not allowed on walk streets, on the bike path, on the strand, on the pier, or on sidewalks.  Everyone who operates a motorized scooter must wear a helmet, be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license or instruction permit.  Scooters cannot be left blocking a sidewalk or in the roadway.
