Advisory

New Signs Posted at Metlox and at the City Civic Plaza

In an effort to make the Metlox property and the Civic Center Plaza a safe and enjoyable place for all who visit, the Manhattan Beach Police Department would like to remind our residents and visitors of a few Manhattan Beach Municipal Codes.  These codes are posted on new signs at both the Metlox property (451 Manhattan Beach Blvd.) and at the Manhattan Beach Civic Center Plaza (1400 Highland Ave and 420 15th Street).  These signs are a reminder that:

  • No skating or skateboarding is allowed
  • No smoking or vaping
  • No bicycling or scooters
  • Dogs shall be leashed at all times
The Metlox property and the Civic Center Plaza have sustained damage from skateboarding so we want to remind skateboarders to please use the Manhattan Beach Skatepark located at 1625 Marine Ave.  This is also a reminder that all children under the age of 18 must wear a helmet if they are skateboarding or riding a scooter or bicycle.  There will be a 14 day warning period beginning today, July 26, 2018.  Starting August 9, 2018, citations will be issued for violations of the Manhattan Beach Municipal Codes related to these activities.  Thank you for helping to keep our community safe!
