Deputies respond to domestic dispute and while onscene, male pulls out a firearm, taking his own life

LOCATION: 15600 block of Fresno Court, Victorville
INVOLVED SUBJECT: Arnulfo Padilla, 51-year old Victorville resident (Deceased)
SUMMARY:
On July 25, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a home in the 15600 block of Fresno Court for a domestic disturbance. According to the reporting party, Arnulfo Padilla was upset and breaking things inside the house.
Deputies arriving at the scene contacted Padilla at the front door of the house. Padilla had a firearm and pointed it at himself. As deputies talked with Padilla they attempted to get him to drop the gun, he instead stepped further into the house and out of their sight, shortly after deputies heard a single gunshot. It was unknown at that time if anyone else was in the house with Padilla.
Upon entering the house deputies located Padilla on the floor with a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound. Padilla was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one else was in the house and no other injuries were reported.
