SCAM ALERT
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has received several reports from citizens about a SCAM.
Someone is calling citizens from 828-278-8945, stating they are deputy marshall from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and the citizen has a warrant for their arrest because the citizen did not show up for jury duty. The caller asks the citizen to pay the fine over the phone.
This is a SCAM.
If you receive such a call, it is a SCAM.
