On July 8, 2018 at approximately 2:15 pm Redwood City Police Officers were dispatched to the area Renato Court and El Camino Real for a report of three male subjects involved in a physical fight. Upon arrival, Officers located three adult males with one male bleeding from his head (Victim).

The victim and witnesses stated a white male adult walked up to the victim and struck the victim in the head with a rock in a sock and fled. Officers quickly located the suspect at the end of the court who was also bleeding from his head.

Officers located surveillance video recordings, which captured the incident. The video recording showed the suspect walk up to the male victim who was working on his parked vehicle. The suspect pulled out a sock, which contained the rock and struck the victim in the head.

Officers canvassed the area and located the sock with the rock and blood on the street. Both the victim and suspect were transported to Stanford for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was later
booked into county jail following medical clearance.

Thomas Waddell, 56 years old was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon and violation of parole. Suspect was recently released from prison after serving 12 years for a prior assault with a deadly weapon case.
