Flood Advisory until 05:45PM

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... East central Dolores County in southwestern Colorado... Northeastern Montezuma County in southwestern Colorado... North central La Plata County in southwestern Colorado...

* Until 545 PM MDT.

* At 246 PM MDT Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms to the west of Rico. Minor flooding as well as rock and mud slides are possible in the advisory area along Route 145. Additionally, heavy rainfall may eventually impact the Burro Fire burn scar in the next 1-2 hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Areas south of Rico and east of Stoner along Route 145. This includes Colorado 145 between mile markers 30 and 47.

* AFFECTED AREAS: LA PLATA, CO ... DOLORES, CO ... MONTEZUMA, CO

Instructions:

Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.
