Motor Vehicle Strikes Residence - North Cape May

                              VEHICLE STRIKES RESIDENCE
On July 21st, 2018 at approximately 10:58 a.m. a vehicle driven by 72 year old Carol Giorgi was traveling east on Town Bank Road.  A witness, Justin Lewis who was traveling west on Town Bank Road advised officers that the vehicle driven by Carol Giorgi suddenly crossed the center line causing him to swerve to the shoulder.  Lewis then observed Giorgi’s vehicle leave the roadway and strike the residence located at 629 Town Bank Road.
Crash investigation revealed that Giorgi, a Doylestown, PA resident, potentially suffered from some type of medical emergency while she was traveling east on Town Bank Road. As a result, Giorgi’s vehicle ran off of the roadway and struck the residence.
Members of the Town Bank Fire Company, Medics, and the Lower Township Rescue Squad also responded and assisted with the scene as well as treatment of the driver. The Lower Township Building Inspector, Gary Playford responded to the scene to determine the structural integrity of the residence, which was determined to be habitable.  Giorgi was transported to the Cape Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
The crash investigation is ongoing by Patrolman Nuscis.
