On July 22, 2018, at 1:29 a.m. Deputy Ben Kiesel conducted a traffic stop on Blue 2012 Nissan passenger car for speeding on US 41 near County Road 650 South. Upon approaching the vehicle he identified the driver as 23 year old Joey Hallbeck of Fort Branch. During a roadside investigation Deputy Kiesel ran Mr. Hallbeck through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and discovered that Mr. Hallbeck had never been issued a valid operator’s license. Upon discovering that Deputy Kiesel placed Mr. Hallbeck into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating Without Ever Receiving a Valid License. He remains in custody on a $650 bond.
