The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for... Central Davidson County in central North Carolina...
* Until 1115 PM EDT
* At 822 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that two to two and a half inches of rain has fallen across central and especially western Davidson County during the past two hours. This rainfall will result in urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lexington, Linwood, and High Rock.
* AFFECTED AREAS: DAVIDSON, NC
Instructions:
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of floods and flash floods. If flash flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water begins rising.
