DATE/TIME: July 22, 2018 / 01:43am

INCIDENT: Vehicle Pursuit

LOCATION: Yucca Loma Road x Apple Valley Road

SUSPECT: Buddy Neher, 27 year old, resident of Apple Valley, currently on PRCS for VC10851 Stolen Vehicle

SUMMARY:
On July 21, 2018, at 01:43 am, Deputy Clay Lacey attempted a vehicle stop on Buddy Lee Neher for running a stop sign. Neher pulled into the Chevron parking lot at the intersection of Yucca Loma and Apple Valley Road. Neher stopped briefly to allow his female passenger to get out of the vehicle, but then drove away at a high rate of speed.

Neher fled eastbound on Yucca Loma Road in excess of 90mph. He ran stop signs and drove into oncoming lanes. The pursuit continued north onto Kiowa Road. At the intersection of Highway 18, Neher drove through the intersection at high speed and against a red light disregarding other drivers. The pursuit continued at high speeds winding throughout Apple Valley. Neher ran every stop sign along the route and continued through residential neighborhoods at over 70mph. Neher nearly collided with a mailbox near Ocotillo Road and South Road and stopped shortly after.

Neher was taken into custody without incident. A records check showed Neher had a no bail warrant for his arrest. Neher was wanted for violation of his Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS). He was also in possession of a suspected controlled substance. Neher was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for his PRCS warrant and Vehicle Code 2800.2 (felony evading). Neher does not have a bail at this time. His next court date is July 23, 2018.

The Apple Valley Police Department would like to thank and commend the numerous citizens who were on the roadway and affected by this pursuit. By paying attention to their surroundings and yielding to the right, they were able to lessen the danger Neher was creating and help deputies in their efforts to apprehend him.
