Narrative:
On Saturday, July 21st, 2018, around 0108 AM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were conducting high visibility patrol in the area of Sixth and Linden due to the recent shootings. During their directed patrol, officers observed Banuelos walking southbound on Linden towards Seventh Street. Officers were familiar with Banuelos and knew he was on probation. When they attempted to contact him, Banuelos ran and discarded a loaded firearm. After a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody and the firearm was recovered.
Banuelos was placed under arrest on suspicion of;
- 29800 (a)(1) PC- Felon in possession of a firearm
- 30305 (a) PC- Felon in possession of ammunition
- 25850(c)(6) PC- Unregistered firearm
Banuelos was booked at the Pomona City Jail.
