  • 29800 (a)(1) PC- Felon in possession of a firearm
  • 30305 (a) PC- Felon in  possession of ammunition
  • 25850(c)(6) PC- Unregistered firearm

Suspect:
  • Aldrete,  Jesse Jr 19 year old Adelanto Resident

Unit:
  • The Pomona Police Department Major Crimes Task Force

     
Narrative:

On Friday, July 20th, 2018, around 10:54 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were conducting directed enforcement in the area of Second  and White due to the recent increase in gang activity. Officers in an undercover vehicle were monitoring the area when they observed a black Lexus with paper plates in violation of vehicle code section 5200(A) VC. The officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle didn’t immediately yield.  Officers then observed a firearm being thrown out the right rear window. A short time later, the vehicle pulled over and the occupants were detained. Officers identified Aldrete as the right rear passenger.   

Aldrete was placed under arrest on suspicion of;
  • 29800 (a)(1) PC- Felon in possession of a firearm
  • 30305 (a) PC- Felon in possession of ammunition
  • 25850(c)(6) PC- Unregistered firearm
  • 25850(c)(3)PC- Gang Member in Possession of a Firearm

 
Aldrete was booked at the Pomona City Jail.

The Pomona Police Department will continue to take a “Zero” Tolerance” approach to Gun related crimes.
