Valley Preppy Masher Arrested
 
Canoga Park.  Los Angeles detectives have arrested 22-year-old Alon Lerner after he walked into LAPD’s Topanga Police Station this afternoon to surrender.  Lerner is a resident of Winnetka, where he lives with his parents. 
 
“As a local, Lerner was readily recognized by several persons, who saw his picture on the news, dubbed the Preppy Masher, and sent in tips overnight,” said Capt. Paul Vernon, head of the Topanga Patrol Division.  “Detectives will work to confirm Lerner as the suspect, based upon pictures and clothing, then present the case to the District Attorney.”
 
Lerner was booked at the Van Nuys Jail on a charge of felony sexual battery.  His bail was set at $65,000.  He had no prior criminal history.
