Advisory

Sheriff's Office investigators arrest three subjects for multiple drug offenses yesterday on Hilton Head Island.

After receiving information that 36-year-old Antonio Lee was selling illegal drugs out of his Paddle Boat Lane, Hilton Head Island residence, Sheriff’s Office investigators began to surveil that location. Late yesterday afternoon, while conducting surveillance on Lee’s residence, investigators observed two subjects—identified as 29-year-old Joey Atkins and 28-year-old Shae Dalrymple—arrive in a vehicle near Lee’s apartment. Atkins then exited the vehicle driven by Dalrymple, walked up to Lee’s apartment and returned to the vehicle a short time later. After Atkins got back in the vehicle, Dalrymple drove a few hundred yards away and parked in a vacant lot inside the apartment complex.

As Joey Atkins and Shae Dalrymple sat inside the parked vehicle, investigators approached them and observed a syringe on Atkins’s lap. When the two were confronted, investigators recovered heroin and powder cocaine and learned that Atkins had just purchased the heroin and cocaine from Antonio Lee at his Paddle Boat Lane apartment. Dalrymple and Atkins were both arrested for Possession of Heroin and Possession of Cocaine. Based on the activity observed during the surveillance and the recovery of heroin and cocaine from Atkins and Dalrymple, investigators proceeded to Antonio Lee’s apartment, where they arrested him for Sale and Distribution of Distribution of Heroin and Sale and Distribution of Cocaine. After Lee’s arrest, investigators met with a Beaufort County magistrate to obtain a warrant to search his apartment for heroin, cocaine and other illegal drugs.

After obtaining the warrant early last night, investigators and K-9 units searched inside of Antonio Lee’s apartment and recovered trafficking amounts of powder cocaine (over 10 ounces/approximately 1/3 kilogram) and methamphetamines (over 180 pills), along with a distribution weight of heroin and various instruments used in the manufacturing and distribution of illegal drugs. At the completion of the search of his Paddle Boat Lane apartment, Lee was charged additionally with Trafficking Cocaine and Trafficking Methamphetamines.

Joey Atkins, Shae Dalrymple and Antonio Lee were transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center and incarcerated. The three have yet to have bonds set on their charges and remain incarcerated as of this afternoon.

Note- At the time of yesterday's arrest, Antonio Lee was out on bond for previous drug charges—including trafficking heroin—and was wearing an electronic ankle monitor.
