Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the below pictured man being sought in connection with an armed robbery that occurred today.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., police responded to the 200-block of Park Avenue on a robbery call. A male suspect entered a delivery truck and demanded the driver’s money and personal possessions at gunpoint. The suspect fled east on Park Avenue and entered a gray Nissan Juke. The vehicle was last seen heading south 6th Street.

The suspect is described as 35 years old, 5’8” tall with a dark complexion, wearing a bald head and a full beard. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts.

Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s assistance in quickly identifying this suspect and removing him from our streets.
