Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that 6th Precinct police have located an unattended 2-year old girl today.

Shortly before 8 a.m., a citizen in the 200-block of Stuyvesant Avenue reported that a child was found. She was wearing a dress, diaper and no shoes.

The child has been transported to University Hospital for evaluation, but appears unharmed. Child Protective Services has been notified.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about this incident or the whereabouts of this child’s parents or guardians to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
