The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

July 12th

0659 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 35-year-old Lodi male for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia during a routine stop on the 36000 block of Haley Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1132 Hours: Officer Khairy contacted and arrested a 34-year-old Newark male for possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant during a routine strop on Peachtree Avenue at Spruce Street. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

1426 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 37-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrant during a pedestrian stop on Filbert Street at Wells Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1452 Hours: Officer Herbert contacted and arrested a 51-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrant during a traffic stop on the 5800 block of Jarvis Avenue. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

1633 Hours: Officer Wilkerson contacted and arrested a 34-year-old Fremont male for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia during a routine traffic stop on the 39600 block of Balentine Drive. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1644 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 44-year-old transient male for probation violation / stay away order on the 7100 block of Rich Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2310 Hours: Officer Horst contacted and arrested a 31-year-old transient male for his outstanding warrant during a pedestrian stop on the 5700 block of Thornton Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0414 Hours: While checking a suspicious vehicle at the west end of Enterprise Drive, Officer Rivera contacted and arrested a 37-year-old Newark male for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

July 13th

1622 Hours: Officer Wilkerson contacted and arrested a 33-year-old Fremont male for his outstanding warrant during a pedestrian stop on Sycamore Street at Beutke Drive. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

2057 Hours: Officer Hunter contacted and arrested a 34-year-old Fremont male for driving under the influence during a traffic stop on the 5500 block of Musick Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

2151 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 39-year-old transient male for his outstanding warrant on Cedar Boulevard at Robertson Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

0130 Hours: During a traffic stop, Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 34-year-old Fremont female for driving under the influence on HWY 880 at Thornton Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0334 Hours: During a traffic stop, Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 44-year-old Newark male for driving under the influence on Enterprise Drive at Wells Drive. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

July 14th

1245 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated a vandalism incident on the 36900 block of Darvon Street.

2245 Hours: During a traffic stop, Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 24-yrear-old Fremont male for driving under the influence on Cedar Boulevard at Music Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0157 Hours: During a traffic stop, Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 24-year-old Union City male for driving under the influence on Central Avenue at Central Court. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

July 15th

1105 Hours: Officer Wang investigated a report of a stolen teal, 2000 Honda Civic (Washington 790YWS) on the 6400 block of Jasmine Avenue.

1208 Hours: Officer Wallace investigated a theft of wheels from a vehicle on the 36800 block of Cherry Street.

1218 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 5700 block of Dichondra Place. A 48-year-old Newark male was arrested for violating the terms of a restraining order. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1231 Hours: Officer Wang investigated a vehicle burglary at McDonalds, 35192 Newark Boulevard. The loss is a laptop computer.

1536 Hours: Officer Wallace accepted a self-surrender of a 56-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrant at the Police Station front counter. The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara Main Jail in San Jose.

2152 Hours: Officer San Pedro responded to a disturbance on the 6100 block of Thornton Avenue. A 30-year-old Newark female was arrested for her outstanding warrant and subsequently booked into the Fremont Jail.
