Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Taqiyyah Gerald, 27, of Newark, on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in an incident that occurred today.

Gerald is wanted for a domestic violence after a man she knows was cut with a knife.

Detectives investigating this incident identified Taqiyyah Gerald as a suspect and have secured a warrant for her arrest. She is described as 5’3” tall, 120 lbs. and having a medium brown complexion.

Director Ambrose is urging anyone with information about this incident or the whereabouts of Taqiyyah Gerald to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867).
