- 30305 (a)(1) PC- Felon possession of ammunition
- 25850(a) PC- Possession of concealed firearm
- 25850(c)(6) PC- Possession of unregistered firearm
- Nava, Isaac, a 34 year old Pomona resident
The Pomona Police Department- Major Crimes Task Force
Narrative:
On Friday, July 13, 2018, around 9:00 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were working a gang suppression detail within the City of Pomona. Officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. Officers established surveillance prior to the execution of the search warrant.
Officers observed the suspect leave his residence, officers attempted to contact the suspect however, he fled on foot. A foot pursuit was initiated and the suspect was apprehended as he climbed over a fence in neighboring yards. It was believed the suspect discarded a firearm in a yard he ran through.
Officers attempted to locate the firearm in the rear yard however with darkness and a large amount of debris made it difficult. A Pomona Police K9 was requested to assist with an article search. K9 Tibo responded and located the firearm hidden in a bush. The search warrant was executed and Suspect Nava was arrested on the above listed charges.
The City of Pomona is equipped with many resources to include K9, air support and specialized units. All of our units work as a team to accomplish any mission. We are dedicated to addressing quality of life issues and have one common goal of ensuring the safety of our community.
