Michael Ervin is arrested for willful cruelty to a child after doctors discover 5-month-old infant with fractured ribs

SUSPECT: Michael Jerome Ervin, 39 years old, resident of Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM: Five-month-old female
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, the victim, a five-month-old female, was examined at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) and found to have three fractured ribs, all in the healing stages. Forensic Pediatricians determined the victim's injuries were consistent with suspected child abuse and detectives from the Sheriff's Crimes Against Children Detail were summoned to conduct an investigation.
Investigators determined the victim resided in Rancho Cucamonga with Michael Ervin.
Following an extensive investigation and collaboration with Forensic Pediatricians from LLUMC, Michael was arrested on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Michael was booked at Central Detention Center for Willful Cruelty to a Child and bail was set at $100,000.
