Evander Lewis and Miracle Britt, of Victorville, arrested for the child cruelty of a 3 yr old girl & a 6 yr old boy

SUMMARY:
On Sunday, June 17, 2018, Detectives from the Victorville Station responded to Victor Valley Global Medical Center reference a 3-year-old child with suspicious injuries. Detectives notified Investigators from Specialized Investigations, Crimes Against Children Detail to assist with the investigation. The victim was transferred to Loma Linda University Medical Center for further examination and care.
Investigators identified Evander Lewis and Miracle Britt as possible suspects, and contacted them on June 18, 2018. During this contact, Investigators determined there was another child in the home and that child was also examined. At that point in the investigation, Children and Family Services took custody of the children. Following the initial contact with investigators, the couple moved from their home and could not be located.
After an extensive investigation, Forensic pediatricians determined both children sustained multiple injuries, both new and healing injuries.
On July 11, 2018, Crimes Against Children Investigators secured arrest warrants for Lewis and Britt. On July 12, 2018, the Specialized Enforcement Detail and Victorville Gang Team located Evander Lewis and Miracle Britt in a Victorville motel and they were arrested without incident. Evander Lewis was booked for Child Cruelty and Oral Copulation with bail set at $600,000. Miracle Britt was booked for Child Cruelty with a $100,000 bail. Both are being held at West Valley Detention Center.
