55 yr old male shoots 16 yr old in the chest, then turns gun on himself, committing suicide

LOCATION: 17000 Block Quantico Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: 55-year-old male, resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM: 16-year-old male, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at approximately 4:05 p.m., Deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to a report of shots fired. When deputies arrived on scene they determined that a domestic disturbance had occurred and the adult male had fired one round from a 9mm hand gun striking a juvenile once in the chest. The adult male then turned the gun on himself and he was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.
The juvenile was transported to St. Mary Medical Center and then airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in serious condition. There were several people inside the residence at the time of the shooting including an adult female and five juveniles. There were no other injuries.
