Columbia Dam De-Construction Tour

A tour of the Columbia Dam de-construction is upcoming:

WHEN: Monday, July 16, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.
and
Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

WHAT: The Columbia Dam in Knowlton is currently in the process of being de-constructed as part of an NJDEP/ Nature Conservancy project to return the Paulinskill to a free-flowing river that connects to the Delaware. This tour will include an overview/look at the de-construction of the concrete remnant and main dams and the now-flowing river.

WHERE: Meet at the entrance to the Columbia Wildlife Management Area on Route 46 in Knowlton. If traveling on Route 46 west, the entrance is on the right, after the Shell gas station, after house #7, across a small bridge, and before the on-ramp to Route 80/Route 94. The entrance is marked with a sign that says “COLUMBIA WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA.”

WHO: Anyone interested may attend. The tour will be led by Beth Styler Barry of the Nature Conservancy.
