Deputies arrest a Joshua Tree man after he shot a rifle in the air; multiple firearms were seized

SUSPECT: Yuan Hernandez, 27-year-old male resident of Joshua Tree
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at about 6:30 a.m., Deputy Ricardo Rodriguez responded to a residence in the 61000 block of Petunia Drive, for a call regarding a male subject who was shooting a rifle in the air. Deputy Rodriguez arrived at the residence and contacted Yuan Hernandez, who was in possession of two AK-47 assault rifles along with loaded high capacity magazines, a 12-gauge shotgun and a 9mm semi-automatic hand gun.
Hernandez was arrested for Penal Code 246.3 – Negligent Discharge of a Firearm, and his weapons were seized. Hernandez was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held in lieu of $ 50,000 bail.
