Deputy responding to 911 hang-up call finds methamphetamine
Deputy David Jones of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Ronnie Eugene Hobbs, 54, of 14 Black Gum Drive in Old Fort, with possession of methamphetamine.
At 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, Jones responded to a 911 hang-up call at 970 Bat Cave Road. Hobbs reported that someone was following him, but the deputy saw no signs of other people in the area.
A subsequent search of Hobbs turned up 2 grams of methamphetamine in the suspect’s pocket.
