Narrative:
On May 27, 2018, at approximately 0830 hours, Thousand Oaks Police Department Patrol Deputies responded to the Golds Gym, located at 197 North Moorpark Road for a stolen vehicle report.  Patrol deputies conducted an initial investigation and learned that two female suspects entered the Golds Gym and inquired about obtaining memberships. While inside the gym, both suspects entered the locker room area and stole the victim’s backpack, containing her car keys, from an unlocked locker.  The suspects then used the victim’s car keys and stole her vehicle from the parking garage.  Soon after the vehicle theft, the victim learned her credit cards were used to fraudulently purchase approximately $1,044.00 in tools from the Home Depot in the City of Camarillo.  The victim’s vehicle was also recovered, unoccupied, in the Camarillo Outlets parking lot by Camarillo Police Department patrol deputies.

Thousand Oaks Police Detectives conducted an investigation and identified one of the suspects as Sandra Frescas of Ventura.  On June 21, 2018, during a probation search, Thousand Oaks Police Department detectives arrested Frescas in a residence located in the 1900 block of Washington Avenue in the City of Ventura.  Kenneth McGrew and Jennifer Fox were also contacted during the probation search and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.  In addition, Kenneth McGrew was found to be in possession of approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine, a useable amount of heroin, a scale and packaging.  Frescas was arrested and booked into Ventura County Jail for burglary, auto theft, and identity theft.  McGrew was arrested and booked for being under the influence of a controlled substance, being in possession of heroin, and being in possession of a methamphetamine for sales.  Fox was arrested and booked for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Detectives subsequently identified the second suspect that entered the Golds Gym, stole the victims backpack and vehicle as Susan Hanks of Ventura.  Hanks was previously arrested on June 20, 2018 by the Oxnard Police Department for unrelated identity theft charges and was in custody at the Ventura County Jail.  Detectives contacted Hanks at the jail and arrested her for burglary, vehicle theft, and identity theft.  Sandra Frescas and Susan Hanks remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on July 10, 2018.
