Suffolk County Police yesterday arrested a 45-year-old Deer Park man for Stalking and making unwanted communication with Two Babylon women.
 
Beginning in the summer of 2013 and continuing through July 1, 2018, Joseph Mathews engaged in hundreds of inappropriate conversations, mostly of a sexual nature, with a 46-year professional business woman. Additionally, between April 26, 2018 and May 1, 2018, Mathews engaged in both sexual and threatening conversations with a 38 year-old professional business woman.  Both victims contacted the Suffolk County Police Department, and after a thorough investigation by the First Precinct Crime Section, officers arrested Mathews at his residence on July 6 at approximately 10:30 p.m. 
 
Mathews, 45, of 152 Villa Avenue, Deer Park, was charged with two counts of Stalking 3^rd Degree, two counts of Stalking 4^th Degree and 2 counts of Aggravated Harassment 2^nd Degree. He is being held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July 7.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
