Commercial Burglary
Location: 3000 Block of Kenneth Street
An unidentified suspect(s) gained access to a business on the 3000 block of Kenneth Street by prying open the front door. An alarm company notified police. The suspect(s) had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The suspects stole SD cards, flash drives, computer memory modules and smart phone screens. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Citations
Location: 1700 Block of El Camino Real
An officer observed a vehicle parked on the 1700 block of El Camino Real and ran the license plate on the vehicle. The return noted the registration was expired, yet the license plate bore a future month tab.
The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop and the female driver identified herself. The suspect acknowledged the registration tab did not belong on the vehicle. She was arrested.

Hit and Run - Felony
Location: El Camino Real and Main Street
An officer was driving east on El Camino Real when the distinctive sound of tires screeching could be heard. The officer observed two vehicles collide into other another just before reaching Main Street.
The officer informed Public Safety Dispathers of the accident and stopped to provide assistance. As the officer approached the vehicle, a female subject could be seen holding a small crying baby and there were several people walking around the car. Bystanders informed the officer that a vehicle involved in the collision was driving away. The officer activated emergency equipment and initiated a traffic enforcement stop. The vehicle eventually yielded at Main Street and Sahara Way. The vehicle was occupied by a female driver.
A Records check revealed the female driver did not have a driver’s license. A search of the vehicle yielded a bag containing presecription medication and cannabis. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
The victim vehicle, with occupants ages 17, 17, 13 and 8 months had minor injuries.

Stolen Vehicle
Location: Saratoga Avenue and Kiely Boulevard
An officer was on routine patrol in the area of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Kiely Boulevard when a suspicious couple, one female and one male, stepped out of a parked 2019 vehicle with dealer license plates. The couple entered the business.
The officer inspected the vehicle identification number and learned it was stolen. Officers established a perimeter around the business and initiated a high-risk felony car stop. The couple ultimately exited the business and was detained without incident.
A Records check revealed the female subject was on searchable probation. She was also in possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and the key to the stolen vehicle. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Residential Burglary
Location: 2200 Block of Monroe Street
At approximately 1830 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Monroe Street on the report of a prior residential burglary.
The victim returned to the residence to find it had been ransacked. Electronics and jewelry valued at $6,350 had been stolen. The unknown suspect(s) remain at large.

Pursuit
Location: 2100 Block of Laurelwood Road

An officer conducted a security check at a hotel on the 2100 block of Laurelwood Road when a male subject was observed looking into the window of a parked car. When the suspect saw the officer, he quickly got into a vehicle and fled the scene. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop however the vehicle failed to yield.
A pursuit commenced. The suspect vehicle drove onto northbound highway 880, exited our city and the pursuit was cancelled. The officer relayed the vehicle description, including license plate number, and suspect description to the California Highway Patrol.

Significant Felony Arrest
Location: Central Expressway and Lafayette Street
An officer was conducting security checks on businesses in the area of Central Expressway and San Tomas Expressway. While doing so, the officer located a male subject prowling. After seeing the officer, the subject immediately got into a vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The officer broadcasted the details via police radio but did not initiate a pursuit.
The subject vehicle broadsided a vehicle occupied by two victims at the intersection of Central Expressway and Lafayette Street. Following the collision, the subject fled on foot. Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An original officer arrived on scene of the collision and deployed the police service canine. The canine apprehended the suspect.
A Records check revealed the subject had a no-bail felony warrant for his arrest. A search of his person yielded a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools. The subject was transported to a local hospital and later booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

NOTE: The San Jose Peace and Justice Center planned a "Day of Action" protest at the corner of Winchester Boulevard and Stevens Creek Boulevard. A limited number of peaceful protesters participated.

Residential Burglary
Location: 3100 Block of Homestead Road
A residential burglary occured on the 3100 block of Homestead Road.
An unknown suspect(s) removed the screen from a first floor bedroom window and entered the victim's apartment. The suspect(s) ransacked the entire apartment. The suspect(s) did not appear to have taken anything and remains at large.

Location: 900 Block of Elizabeth Drive
An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of Elizabeth Drive on the report of a tree branch that had fallen from a city tree onto a vehicle. No one was injured. The Street Department was contacted to dispose of the branch. The responding officer took a police report for the damage.
