Traffic stop leads to the arrest of Evansville man on drug charge.

On July 4, 2018, at 10:14 a.m. Deputy Austin Farrington conducted a traffic stop on a White 1999 Mitsubishi Galant on State Road 57 by the Diplomat motel near Oakland City. Deputy Farrington identified the driver of the vehicle as 46 year old Brian Myers of Evansville. During a roadside investigation Deputy Farrington ran Mr. Myers through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles where it was discovered that he was operating his vehicle on a suspended license with a prior conviction. At that point Deputy Farrington placed Mr. Myers into custody and began an inventory of the vehicle before it was towed from the roadway. During the inventory a green leafy substance that tested positive for Marijuana was found. Mr. Myers was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Driving While Suspended/Prior and Possession of Marijuana. He has since posted a $650 bond.

Assisting Deputy Farrington in his investigation was Oakland City Chief Tim Gains and Officer Tom Rohl.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
