Felony OWI 4th Offense
On July 2, 2018 at 11:42 PM, an officer with the Middleton Police Department observed a vehicle perform an illegal U-turn in the 7600 block of Discovery Drive. The officer also witnessed the vehicle drift out of its traffic lane. The driver was identified as Ryan G. Rogers, age 45, of Verona. The officer noted a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Rogers’ breath and his speech was slurred.
Following field sobriety testing, Rogers was arrested for 4th offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI), a felony. Rogers refused to provide a sample of his blood, so a search warrant was obtained. The blood sample will be sent to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab for analysis. Rogers was booked into the Dane County Jail for the felony OWI and was also ticketed for lane deviation and making an unlawful U-turn.
