On June 26th and 27th, 2018 Operation Hot Spot was conducted in Rutherford County for the third consecutive year.  This Operation is a combined effort of the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force, Rutherford County Sheriff Office, Probation Parole Office, Forest City Police Department, Rutherfordton Police Department, Homeland Security and North Carolina DMV.  This Operation resulted in 29 Offenders being arrested on multiple violations ranging from Probation Violations to Firearms Violations, Heroin, Methamphetamine and Marijuana.  The purpose of this years operation was to concentrate on those individuals on Probation/Parole and for the citizens of Rutherford County to see multiple agencies work together for one common goal.
