Hazardous Weather Outlook Posted - Borough Facilities Available for Cooling Stations

A National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook has been posted for Northwest New Jersey, Saturday, June 30th through Thursday, July 5th:  Heat Index values will be in the 90s on Saturday and generally in the low to mid 100s on Sunday, Monday, and possibly Tuesday. 

The Washington Public Library will be available as a cooling station on Saturday, June 30th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Borough Hall (upstairs in the Fire Hall) will be available as a cooling station Monday, July 2nd, Tuesday, July 3rd, and Thursday, July 5th from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Residents are advised to check on neighbors, especially the elderly and disabled and/or those without air conditioning.  Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and how to prepare for extreme heat by visiting: https://www.ready.gov/heat
