Just because "safe and sane" fireworks are legal to buy and use in Union City, doesn't mean that they can be set off anywhere.
In preparation for the upcoming holiday, here is an important reminder: Only “safe and sane” fireworks are legal to sell, purchase and use in Union City. “Safe and sane” fireworks are fireworks that do not fly or explode, such as some fountains, sparklers, strobes, etc. “Safe and sane” fireworks are allowed from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on July 1-3. On July 4, they are allowed until 11:00 PM. Fireworks are only allowed on private property. This excludes parks and streets.
