INCIDENT: Murder Investigation

LOCATION: 2710 N. State St., Muscoy

SUSPECT: Ramon Muro Guerra, 33 years old, transient

VICTIM: Joe Alan Reyes, 25 years old, resident of Muscoy

SUMMARY:
On Saturday, June 23, 2018, at approximately 6:50 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an unknown problem at 2041 Darby in Muscoy. The caller stated a female had blood on her and was in the back of the apartment complex. Other callers reported hearing gunshots in the area and then screaming. Deputies arrived and found the victim, Joe Alan Reyes, lying in a field behind the Darby location, suffering from a gunshot wound. Fire personnel arrived and Reyes was transported to San Bernardino Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 7:45 p.m.

Through the investigation it was learned that Joe Reyes and Ramon Guerra were in a relationship with the same female.

Early Saturday, June 23, 2018, Ramon Guerra left the female’s apartment and then Joe Reyes came over. Reyes left, but returned and was standing outside talking to the female when Guerra and another male came to the apartment and Guerra confronted Reyes. Guerra pulled out a gun and the female heard a gunshot. Reyes ran away from the location and was then seen running across the field when Guerra fired again, striking Reyes. Guerra fled from the scene, and the female ran to Reyes and began yelling for help.

Ramon Guerra has been known to drive either an older model green van, maroon Ford Expedition or a white pick-up truck. He does not have a known address and is believed to be homeless. Guerra also has warrants out of Riverside County for weapons charges and is considered armed and dangerous.
