Police Blotter June 19th thru the 24th

June 19th

Possession of a Controlled Substance– Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0825 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted subject at Safeway and arrested a 35-year-old male from Richmond for being in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

Grand Theft – 2300 Block of Alva Ave:
On 6/18/18 at 0011 hours, an unknown suspect stole six pairs of shoes from the victims’ front porch.

Petty Theft– Ross, 2000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1604 hours, officers responded to a reported theft at Ross that just occurred. A 26-year-old male from Richmond and a 19-year-old female from San Francisco were detained at the El Cerrito Plaza BART station by responding officers. They were both identified as the suspects, and $145.87 in merchandise was recovered. Both subjects were released on a citation in the field.

Auto Burglary – 6900 block of Moeser Lane:
At 2255 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s driver side window and removed a tool bag containing tools. The suspect got into a waiting vehicle and fled towards San Pablo Avenue.

June 20th

Auto Burglary – 800 block Everett Ave.
Between 6/19 at 1800 hours and 6/20 at 0630 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the rear window of the victim’s vehicle and stole power tools.

Auto Burglary – 6100 block Cypress Ave.
Between 0100 hours and 0800 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the window on the victim’s vehicle and stole power tools.

Commercial Burglary – Del Norte Apartments, 11720 San Pablo Ave.
Between 6/19 at 1700 hours and 6/20 at 0900 hours, an unknown suspect pried the door to the maintenance storage area and stole a golf cart.

Theft from Vehicle – 6700 block Cutting Blvd.
Between 6/19 at 1600 hours and 6/20 at 1030 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole five dollars in change.

Vandalism – 11200 block San Pablo Ave.
Between 6/19 at 1845 hours and 6/20 at 1000 hours, an unknown suspect forced open a window to the victim’s vehicle.

Shoplifting – 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1916 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect attempted to make a purchase with a fraudulent check. When the cashier did not take the check, the suspect grabbed the merchandise and fled the store. The suspect then left the area in a vehicle.

DUI – San Pablo Ave and Conlon Ave:
At 0001 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 29-year-old male from El Cerrito, for driving under the influence. The male was booked and then released to a sober friend.

June 21st:

Warrant (X2) – Burlingame Ave / Mendocino Street:
At 1223 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 38-year-old female from San Pablo on a Marin County warrant and Hercules PD warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public Intoxication – BART Path / Hill Street:
At 1300 hours, an officer responded to a theft at Safeway and detained a 72-year-old transient male. They could not confirm a theft, but the man was heavily intoxicated. He was arrested and transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Theft – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1155 hours, two suspects stole the 84-year-old victim’s purse from her shopping cart.

DUI – 11360 San Pablo Ave:
At 1359 hours, an officer responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle. The caller reported the driver of the vehicle was heavily intoxicated. The driver, a 29-year-old male from Oakland, was contacted and identified by the caller. He displayed objective symptoms of a central nervous system stimulant and was arrested. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

Commercial Burglary – Laundromat, 11940 San Pablo Ave:
At 1520 hours, an officer responded to a commercial burglary. On 6/17/18 at 0220 hours, the owner received an alarm activation. The victim returned to investigate and noticed an unknown suspect entered the business by cutting a hole in the roof which tripped the alarm and scared the suspect off (no loss). It appears the suspect entered and exited via the roof.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave:
At 1916 hours, an officer responded to a report of an unwanted person and contacted a 49-year old male who was a parolee-at-large. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1811 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 21-year-old female and a 29-year-old male from San Francisco after they entered the business and stole merchandise. The male and female were stopped by loss prevention and placed under citizen’s arrest. A warrants check revealed the male had a warrant for his arrest from San Francisco. The male and female were booked and then released on a citation.

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2342 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 30-year-old male after he entered the business, concealed merchandise, and attempted to leave without paying. The male was detained by loss prevention and placed under citizen’s arrest. The male was booked and then released on a citation.

June 22nd

Shoplifting, Drunk in Public, Probation Violation - (Big 5) 11060 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 1353 hours, officers responded to a theft from a business. A 35-year-old female from Richmond stole several pairs of shoes and fled on foot northbound on San Pablo Ave. The female tried to hide behind a bush on the north side of Bank of the West but was detained by an officer. The female was arrested and transported directly to County Jail in Martinez.

Shoplifting, Obstructing a Police Officer, Possess Controlled Substances, Drug Paraphernalia – CVS 10650 San Pablo Ave.
A 34-year-old male from Richmond stole items from CVS. An officer located the male on Carlson Blvd. fleeing on a bicycle. The male was immediately taken into custody by responding officers. The male was in possession meth, a prescription medication that did not belong to him, and drug paraphernalia. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 11060 San Pablo Ave (Big 5)
At 2033 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the store and left with $250 worth of unpaid for merchandise.

Residential Burglary – 2500 block of Tassajara Avenue
At 2220 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered a home and stole a guitar and case worth $2300.

Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Controlled Substance, Probation Violation – San Pablo Avenue / Knott Avenue:
At 2344 hours, an officer contacted a 33-year-old Richmond man who was in possession of burglary tools and illegal drugs. The man was also in violation of the terms of his probation and was subsequently arrested. The man was later released with a citation.

June 23rd

False Identification and Warrant Arrest – CVS 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 0904 hours, officers responded to a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers detained a 40-year-old female from San Francisco. The female was in possession of stolen property and also provided officers with her sister’s identifying information. Officers learned her true identity and found she had a warrant out of San Mateo County for fraud. The female was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Fairmount Ave.
At approximately 1103 hours, an officer contacted 24-year-old male from Albany and learned he had three warrants for his arrest. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting, Possession of Burglary Tools, Conspiracy and Driving on a Suspended Driver License – Lucky 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At approximately 1319 hours, officers responded to a theft where two female suspects fled in a tan SUV. An officer located the suspect’s vehicle traveling northbound on San Pablo Ave at Stockton Ave. and conducted a traffic stop. During an infield show-up, a 33-year-old female from Sacramento and a 28-year-old female from Oakland were positively identified as the suspects who just stole from Luckys. Over $200.00 worth of Luckys’ products were recovered from inside their vehicle. Both females were arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released on citations.

Warrant Arrest – 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS)
At 0350 hours, an officer contacted a 30-year-old Sacramento man who was inside the closed shopping area. The man was found to have an ECPD warrant and was released with a promise to appear from the scene.

June 24th

Simple Battery – Walgreen’s 11565 San Pablo Ave
At approximately 0801 hours, a citizen reported being slapped in the face by an unknown suspect. The suspect fled prior to police arriving at the store.

Warrant Arrest – Jack in the Box 5920 Cutting Blvd
At 2046 hours, an officer contacted a 34-year-old transient man who had a no-bail warrant for his arrest. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
