Grant Cornelious of Victorville arrested for attempted murder after stabbing a victim several times.

SUSPECT(S): Grant Cornelious, 55-year-old, a resident of Victorville
VICTIM(S): Confidential, 53-year-old, resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On June 24, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the 16900 Block of “D” Street regarding a stabbing.
Upon arrival, deputies learned a woman and two men had left a friend’s house in Apple Valley and were heading to Adelanto when the two men got into a verbal argument. The argument escalated and Grant Cornelious used a knife to stab the victim. The woman, who was driving the car pulled off the roadway. The two men exited the car and continued fighting.
The victim suffered several stab wounds and was transported by air to a nearby trauma center for treatment. The victim in stable condition and he is expected to make a full recovery. The suspect, Cornelious, sustained injuries to his face during the fight and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. After his release from the hospital, Cornelious was arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center for attempted murder.
