Deputies arrest a Lucerne Valley man for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of methamphetamine

LOCATION: AM PM Store at Hwy18 and Rancherias
SUSPECT(S): Ricky Morales, age 29 a resident of Lucerne Valley

SUMMARY: On Thursday, June 21, 2018, at approximately 8:45 pm, Apple Valley Sheriff's Sergeant James R. Evans observed a suspicious vehicle being fueled at the Am Pm. Evans noted observations that led him to suspect the vehicle might be stolen and surveiled it from a distance. Approximately 30 minutes later, Ricky Morales, returned to the vehicle and began to drive away. Deputy Melony Whitecloud quickly contacted Morales. Morales was unlicensed and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The Honda he was operating was found to have been stolen from the Victorville Mall on June 18, 2018.
Morales was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle and possessing methamphetamine. He was transported to High Desert Detention Center and booked.
