NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF TOWN OF BOONTON
JOHN HILL SCHOOL
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS
On or about Friday, June 22nd D&L Paving Contractors will mobilize to begin construction of pedestrian safety improvements at John Hill School, nearby intersections, and crosswalks. This work will occur in the following four (4) limited work areas on or about the tentative dates indicated, weather permitting:
1. Monroe Street between Roosevelt Avenue and Reservoir Drive
a. June 25th to July 3rd – construction of concrete sidewalks and paving of rear student drop-off zone on north side of Monroe Street. Construction of concrete sidewalk, retaining wall and steps on school property.
b. July 9th and 10th – installation of striping, railings and fencing on school property.
2. Intersection of Lathrop Avenue and Vreeland Avenue
a. June 23rd, 25th and 26th – construction of concrete sidewalks, ADA-accessible ramps and Belgium block curbs for crosswalk improvements.
b. July 9th and 10th – installation of crosswalk striping at intersection.
3. Intersection of Lathrop Avenue and Washington Street / Main Street
a. June 23rd, 25th and 26th – construction of concrete sidewalks, ADA-accessible ramps, and concrete curbs for crosswalk improvements.
b. July 9th and 10th – installation of crosswalk striping at intersection.
4. Lathrop Avenue at John Hill School Entrance
a. June 23rd, 25th and 26th – construction of concrete sidewalks, ADA-accessible ramps, and concrete curbs for crosswalk improvements.
b. July 9th and 10th – installation of crosswalk striping at intersection.
c. July 9th to 13th – installation of pedestrian crossing safety lighting and signage.
The week of July 9th, D&L Paving will address site restoration, stabilization, and clean up of all work areas.
