Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man. The man was found Thursday, June 21, 2018, at approximately 11:21 a.m., on the 15200 block of South Gibson Street, Compton.
Deputies were conducting a patrol check in the area when they found a vehicle illegally parked along the dirt turn-out on the street. They saw what appeared to be a male black adult sleeping in the back cargo area of the vehicle. The man was unresponsive to their attempts to wake him. Compton Fire Department was called and forced entry into the vehicle. The victim was found with unknown trauma to the head and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim’s identity and cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
There is no suspect information. The investigation is ongoing.
