Flash Flood Watch until 07:00PM
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTH TEXAS... .Persistent rainfall continues across the southern portions of South Texas, with drier air moving in from the north. The drier moving into the area has lowered the flood threat across the northern portions of the Coastal Bend. However, due to the high amounts of rain over the last couple of days, any additional rainfall this afternoon across the southern Coastal Bend and Brush Country could quickly lead to flash flooding. The rain is expected to continue to diminish by this evening with the drier air moving into the southern portions of South Texas. ...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING... The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of south Texas, including the following areas, Coastal Kleberg, Coastal Nueces, Duval, Inland Kleberg, Inland Nueces, Jim Wells, Kleberg Islands, and Nueces Islands.
* Until 7 PM CDT this evening
* Persistent heavy rainfall due to tropical moisture has lead to flooding over the watch area. Over the past several days, 5 to over 10 inches of rainfall fell in some areas. Additional rainfall with rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour or higher will likely cause water to rapidly accumulate over these areas.
* Additional amounts of 1 to 2 inches can be expected across the southern Coastal Bend and southern Brush Country area through this afternoon. As with nearly all flash flood events, locally higher amounts will be possible.
* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL KLEBERG ... COASTAL NUECES ... DUVAL ... INLAND KLEBERG ... INLAND NUECES ... JIM WELLS ... KLEBERG ISLANDS ... NUECES ISLANDS
