Specialized Enforcement Division extradites Jerry Endsley from Oklahoma for a 2017 attempted murder charge

SUSPECT(S): Jerry Paul Endsley 38-year-old resident of Needles

VICTIM(S): Confidential


UPDATE: After a nationwide search, Jerry Endsley was located and arrested by the Tulsa County Sheriff's Department in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On Wednesday, June 20, 2018, detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division flew to Tulsa, Oklahoma and took custody of Endsley. He was then extradited to California and booked at the West Valley Detention Center on attempted murder charges and several outstanding warrants. Endsley has a no-bail hold and is pending court proceedings.

Endsley was discovered to be on supervised probation for a previous felony spousal abuse conviction as a result of California Assembly Bill 109.

As part of Governor Jerry Brown's Realignment Plan, or Assembly Bill 109, to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court decision requiring the state to lower its prison population by 30,000; offenders of non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious convictions will serve reduced sentences in county jails and be placed on local supervision through county Probation.


SUMMARY:
On the evening of December 6, 2017, deputies from the Colorado River Station were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at the apartment complex at 1900 block of Clary Drive in Needles. Deputies learned that Jerry Endsley contacted the victim in the front door of her apartment demanding to see his child. When she did not let him in, he forced his way into the apartment and stabbed her multiple times. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to her head, arms, and legs. Endsley then left the area.

The victim was transported to the Colorado River Medical Center and treated for her injuries. An extensive search for Endsley was conducted at several locations throughout Needles, but deputies were unable to locate him.
