Deputies stop burglary in progress and recover stolen items

LOCATION: 18100 Block of Delicious Street, Adelanto
SUSPECT: Carlos Meza, 27-year-old resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 11:25 a.m., Deputy Thomas Gates was on patrol in the City of Adelanto when he saw the front door open at a house in the 18100 block of Delicious Street in Adelanto. Deputy Gates stopped to check the residence and witnessed Carlos Meza walking from the property. Meza, who is on active probation, had an antique painting set and a container of matches. Gates confirmed the items were removed from the inside of the victim’s residence.
Meza was arrested for burglary and booked at the High Desert Detention Center, and is being held without bail on a probation hold.
