Carjacking-Shooting Incident
Dearborn, Mi. — On Wednesday June 20, 2018, at approximately 2:40 am, the Dearborn Police responded to the report of a carjacking in the area of Donald and Ternes Street. An officer who located the stolen vehicle was immediately fired upon by the vehicle’s occupant(s). The Dearborn officer returned fire with no known injuries as of this time. Subsequently, the stolen vehicle was recovered and a person of interest was taken into custody. This is an on-going investigation and the Dearborn Police are still gathering evidence and canvassing the area where this incident occurred.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “While I am grateful that no one was injured in this incident, I am enraged that a citizen was the victim of a violent carjacking. The Dearborn Police Department will aggressively investigate this crime and utilize all available resources to ensure all suspects are held accountable.”
