On June 13th, 2018, at around 0700 am, the Novato Police Department Investigations Section conducted a probation search in the 2200 block of Laguna Vista in Novato Ca. During the course of the search, Detectives located numerous items they believe to be stolen property. Detectives have since been able to connect some of these items to thefts recently reported to Novato PD. The property was seized from the residence pursuant to the resident’s terms of probation and is being held as evidence and/or under observation. The recovered property includes: various types of jewelry, power tools, antique sewing machines, clothing and purses, power equipment, antiques, a Winchester safe, golf bags and clubs and electronic devices.
 
This search was performed in response to an increased amount of reported thefts in the City of Novato. Probation searches are an investigative tool used by law enforcement to prevent and solve crime.
The Novato Police Department is asking for help from the community with connecting and identifying property belonging to crime victims in the greater Marin area. If you were the victim of a theft and believe we may have your property, we are asking for your help.
