The victim has been identified as Ronald Scott, age 37 a resident of Twentynine Palms.

On Wednesday, June 13th, at approximately 6:40 pm, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 71600 block of Indian Trail, Twentynine Palms following the report of a deceased person located in the desert. Upon arrival, the reporting party took deputies to the location in the desert where she located the deceased victim while looking for her cat.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to the location and are currently conducting a death investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
