Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Monday, June 18, 2018, at 9:35 a.m. on the 14700 block of Nelson Avenue in the city of Industry. 

Homicide detectives have learned that deputies from Industry Sheriff’s Station responded to the location regarding a call of a gunshot victim at a commercial building that was under construction.

When deputies arrived they discovered the male adult victim in the construction area suffering from gunshot wounds.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The suspect was described as a male adult wearing a mask and a “hard hat” construction helmet.  He fled on foot after the shooting in an unknown direction.  The murder weapon was not recovered.

At the time, the site was very active with numerous construction workers working on the building.  No attempts were made to shoot or assault any additional victims at the scene.  It appears the victim was targeted by the suspect. 

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available.
